Thank you, Mr Koivisto

All Estonian and Finnish people truly appreciate your loyalty. To so many countries. To not let be insulted. The issue is truly is not about freedom and stuff like that, but it is all about trying to be alive... at any costs. To be a slave alive or a free man dead - what the stupid question. Let us be alive! And let us enjoy all the pleasure the life can bring: sticks, orchirds, grappa after vineyards...
I know many nice Finns and some of them are even politicians. I truly love to be with them in Sauna or a forest ranger's home. But when it comes to policies I have always a feeling that it is better to look over your shoulder, all the time. Imagine and imaginary conflict between Tallinn and Moscow that might be deadly dangerous for us.
QUESTION: on whose side will be Finland? Finnish abmassador was not among the collegaues, who protested when Estonian Embassy's territory was attacked by Russians now almost two years ago (act of aggression according to Vienna Convention!) and Finland did not mind Estonian Ambassador (a lady!) to be attacked physically.

Please: take me correctly: Finns are nice people who fail endemically with their governments. The depressive schock of Winter War and all that followed in Moscow will take generations to pass. (Think about Moses!) Paradox was: we were enslaved, but our soul remained free; Finland remained free but kekkonens-paasikivis-koivistos still sit in many Finns' sub-freudian consciousness.

TO SUM UP. Estonian pleasures (festivals, drinking, some soft porno etc) come for both of us: Finns and Estonians. But when it comes to the security and poolitical issues, then better to look at Swedes, Byelorussians and NATO. And towards the USA, in the first place. Both - Heinz Guderian and Konstantin Meretskov said that Finnish soldier is the best one in the world. But he has a serious problem: somewhere high above him sit those, who carry out the policies called "finlandization".
